There was a beautiful place called Tamoanchan at the top of the Thirteen Heavens, the House of Descent, where the gods were born because of the grace and Tonacacihuatl Tonacatecuhtli. In the same heavenly place Xochitlicacan was the place where flowers grow, where dwelt the beautiful goddess Xochiquetzal, Flower Quetzal, with her husband Centéotl God.

In the beginning when the gods were mortal, there was a beautiful princess named Ixchel.

There were many men who pretended including a young man named Itzamná.

One day came a prince of another empire, to pay tribute for victory in battle of the people of Ixchel and fell in love when he first met her.

The villagers told him that Itzamná the intended and apparently she began to fall before then since met Itzamná rebuked by the love of Ixchel.

Her older sister; Ixtab decided they would fight until one of them died, the survivor would with Ixchel, but Ixtab unaware that Ixchel was in love with Itzamná.

In the Yucatan are frequent various legends about strange beings that appear at night in the cornfields and hills, it's little guys called Aluxes, taking attitudes according to the treatment they receive, because if a person goes into your territory and utter obscenities or insults to them or the site, they will send through wind disease, known in the Maya peoples as "bad air", fevers and delirium usually; but if they are treated in a friendly manner and are even offering food in return they take care of the fields, and to endow good harvest.

Deep in the jungle of the Mayab was a wonderful kingdom. The prince of the kingdom was called Chacdziedzib, which means "Bird Cardinal" and was madly in love with the daughter of the keeper of the Sacred Cenote, Nicté-Ha, which means "Water Flower".
